Marie Makinson

Marie Makinson

Marie Makinson became a committee member of Byron CG Jung Society shortly after its conception and with Anna Davidovich is now co-producer of the society's program of events.

Marie has a long history as a therapist working with body and psyche. Her first practice conducted over twenty-three years was in massage. Two thirds of the way through this practice she moved to the UK to study psychology and in 1997 began a Jungian training with The Guild of Analytical Psychology and Spirituality in London. She completed her training as a Jungian analyst as well as an academic training in psychological counselling before returning to northern NSW Australia in 2004. More recently, Marie has again spent time in London for further training in sandplay therapy. She conducts courses on the principles of Jungian psychology, does group work and sees clients for individual work in her private practice.

Marie has a passionate interest in the psyche and the relationship between spirituality and healing. Other passions are: the arts, owner building, yoga, good food and her grandchildren. She lives with her husband in a village in the Northern Rivers region of NSW.

Anna DavidovichAnna Davidovich

Anna Davidovich is treasurer and co-producer of Byron CG Jung Society events. Her work is informed by a distillation of 38 years of academic passions – including Jungian studies and analysis - and immersion in the study and practices of both Eastern and Western mystical traditions including 18 years with both the Chisti and Mevlevi Dervish Sufi orders and over 20 years in the Nyigma, Kagu and other Tibetan Buddhist lineages.

Anna defines herself as a mystic with a passion for the pragmatic and the academic. She is known internationally as one to the pioneers in the exploration and transmission of the alchemical mysteries of the feminine principle and sacred feminine. She has developed a radically innovative initiatory blue print that, in early 1988, gave birth to the Unveiled Body of Work. Unveiled has, over the past 20 years, been presented in Hawaii, mainland America, Australia, Europe, Indonesia and Israel – and is at this stage the signature work of the Numina Institute, established by Anna in 2003 as an educational institution dedicated to the exploration and transmission of the mystical, esoteric and yogic sciences of the Sacred Feminine.

As one of Byron CG Jung Society’s speakers, she presented an overview of her years of research and work, a talk entitled The Alchemical Renaissance of the Sacred Feminine, A New Paradigm, A New Cycle of Teachings. The talk was presented in 2006 at both the Byron CG Jung and Brisbane Jung Societies.
